Account Director

Reporting to the Business Lead, the Account Director will serve as the leader and expert on projects in the development of the strategy around campaigns. The Account Director will handle multiple projects autonomously and successfully manage global campaigns to ensure flawless execution across EU and MERT markets from creative development to launch

The role will also manage this responsibility in reverse, ensuring that advertising campaigns originated from MAL\London are localized for the US market, as well as all other international markets that the client advertise in

The Account Director will perform this role for all campaigns across the client’s product, across all marketing and communications channels

Client Management

  • Provide project status updates, flagging issues and potential solutions
  • Ensure that important updates from LA are disseminated as necessary
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure campaigns are conceived, developed and executed efficiently
  • Build a strong relationship with the local client and become a trusted adviser
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the client’s business with a view to strategically identify and exploit opportunities to extend existing global campaigns on a local market basis
  • Responsible for running integrated campaigns across various media types and understanding the regulations and legalities for tech, music, gaming and video streaming advertising across EU and MERT
  • Lead the creative development, production and delivery of single market campaigns to address specific business problems
  • Ensure all creative work is legally approved before production begins
  • Oversee project activity and facilitate the members of the account management team in the flawless execution of the localization, amplification and origination process so that campaigns are delivered in accordance with the campaign strategy and to the high standard expected by MAL and our client
  • Orchestrate the adaptation process, work on global and regional briefs
  • Ensure localized creative matches campaign strategy and comms planning
  • Control production estimates by working closely with production departments

Commercial Acumen

Manage all aspects of project budgets; track client approvals, testing and production estimates, media and final production costs

Team Management

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities and guidance of team members
  • Ensure team members understand their objectives and work together to achieve them
  • Develop, provide direction and share knowledge with team members
  • Be a prominent member of the agency and help to build an office culture characterised by engagement and collaboration
  • Ensure that the team is structured, resourced and that all work is allocated correctly
  • Responsible for the onboarding and training of new team members, responsible for the talent development process within your team

About You

The following are essential competencies and experience that the right candidate must possess:

  • Substantial experience in the following;
  • Managing a tech brand’s advertising
  • Working on global clients across international markets
  • Working on fast, always-on accounts
  • Working with a client who employ complex matrix structures and effectively manage all stakeholders
  • Music streaming industry, including platform knowledge and experience of working with labels and artist management
  • Partnership marketing, and a proven track record of being able to engage and successfully manage projects to the benefit of our client, publishers and media partners
  • Experience in the online gaming industry
  • Experience and understanding of mobile payment technology and online payment platforms
  • Regulatory landscape and legalities for tech, music, gaming and video streaming advertising across EU and MERT markets
  • Flawless international adaptation and versioning of creative assets across multiple platforms and markets
  • Running origination campaigns
  • Working with planning, creating briefs and executing research
  • Managing budgets in multiple markets
  • Media agency functionality together with substantial experience of liaising and negotiating with each function. Lead the local production of all MAL campaigns including film, OOH, digital, social, and next-generation assets
  • Sensitivity to different cultures, language, communication style, business practice
  • Working across international markets which the client advertises in
  • Deep understanding of the following regional markets from a strategic, regulatory, cultural and brand management perspective: Europe, Russia, Turkey, UAE

  • Strong aptitude for IT systems
  • Proficient in all Mac OS + iOS productivity apps including Keynote, Pages and Numbers
