Jr. UX Designer

Job Description

We are looking for an entry-level designer who has experience in web or mobile design to step into designing intuitive digital experiences.

As a part of the Station Digital Media team, the Junior UX Designer will focus on creating engaging designs in accordance with requirements, transforming ideas into well-structured user experiences. As a Jr. UX designer, you will report to the UX Lead, and will assist the team in tasks such as developing and delivering initial UX requirements, UI/UX specification preparation for development handoff, presentation updates, basic app UI updates, and app QA. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to learn from a dynamic, experienced, and energetic creative team.

Responsibilities:

· Take direction from the design manager and execute design related tasks

· Transform ideas into well-structured, efficient, user experiences

· Continually tailor existing experiences to fit the needs of the modern user

· Develop and deliver UI/UX specifications

· Complete UI/UX design for basic app updates

· Develop UX deliverables, from information architecture, user flow diagrams, wireframes, and storyboards to mockups and prototypes and fully functional applications

· Write technical specifications that accurately describe user flows, use cases, and UX behaviors

· Conceptualize user journeys, designing how users interact with products or services

· Update presentations and walkthroughs with new storyboards

· Contribute to design deliverables and outputs

· Work closely with account executives, consultants, and managers to understand product visions, developer requirements, and customer feedback

· Communicate with development and business teams to ensure designs align with requirements (QA)

Qualifications:

· Bachelors degree in graphic design, visual communications or equivalent experience

· Preferably 1–2 years of experience as a graphic designer in one or more of the following areas: web, publication, information, interaction, logo, package design or graphic design. Engineering backgrounds are also welcome

· Have full understanding of program best practices in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch, XD, and prototyping tools

· Have intermediate experience in Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation development

· Strong organization skills, including task management, file management, structure, and naming

· Full understanding of different file formats, DPI, exporting and use cases (JPG, PNG, GIF, TIF, EPS, etc.)

· Able to produce work within brand guidelines or established campaign look and feel

· Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering highly-polished web-based and mobile prototypes under tight time constraints

· Strong teamwork, organization, and problem resolution skills

· Strong multi-tasking ability

· Professional communication skills, both verbal and written

· Strong interest or background in data visualization

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience in production art
